The Creator/creature distinction and a theology of the body.
Embodied holiness means recognizing the body’s value and importance in the Christian faith. To embody holiness, Christians strive to think about the treat their bodies to the glory of God.
A theology of the body helps Christians understand that caring for physical health is not about perfection or control, but faithful stewardship. While the MAHA movement highlights important health concerns, Scripture alone explains why the body matters. When Christians think rightly about the body, health becomes an expression of obedience rather than obsession.
For these reasons and more, the church needs to know how the Bible addresses the body. Christians must affirm that the body is valuable and that God has ultimate authority over it. By standing on a biblical understanding of the body, we can build a theology of the body from Scripture. Equipped with this understanding, we can confidently address some of the most pressing issues of our day.
Christians struggling with anxiety can praise God for these creational interventions and proclaim them to others. Rather than overlooking our body’s role, we glorify God for his masterful design and embrace creational interventions as a means of enhancing human flourishing through our mind-body connection.
