A foundational book for me. It takes your eyes off self and sets them on God. Knowing his characteristics will settle your soul and give you a peace that passes all understanding no matter the trials you face in life. I can’t recommend Packer’s book enough.

A book for every library. Allison explains fundamental Christian doctrines on a level anyone can grasp. If you want to deepen your understanding of theology or are looking for a teaching resource, you need this book.

Picking only one book from Piper was hard. But God’s providence is my favorite doctrine, so this was the obvious choice. Don’t let the length of this book scare you either. The chapters are short and easy to understand.

A deeply theological, lengthier read but well worth the effort. Bavinck beautifully explains God’s wondrous works in ways that leads you to worship. While this is a shorter version of his 4 volume systematic theology, it is accessible for anyone.

I love Jerry Bridges’ writing. While you can’t go wrong with any of his books, the Holy Spirit's conviction this book elicits is simultaneously challenging and edifying.

A classic devotional that will remind you of bedrock biblical truths.

Learning the aspects of Reformed Theology transformed my faith. This book is a must.

This book does a wonderful job explaining a key aspect of the Christian faith that often goes overlooked. When you grasp your union with Christ, your faith can’t help but grow.

This book brings a necessary perspective on the body that Christians need.

All I can say is, get this book. Read it, and purchase a copy for someone else.

No surprises here. If you want to learn more about human embodiment, check out this book from my doctoral advisor.

Such a wonderful work from a doctor who weaves together personal stories into this touching book, highlighting the incredible ways God designed our bodies.

A simple and practical book yet deeply formative for your prayer life.

At some point, everyone will experience dark clouds in life. This book has been a powerful support for me during times of suffering, as it has many other believers.

At first, I reluctantly read this book because I’m not a emotional person. But that was precisely why I got it. It didn’t take long for me to appreciate Groves’ insight into a topic I don’t think much about. It reminded me that emotions are part of God’s good design for us as his embodied image-bearers.

This book. Get. This. Book. It's a short read that you'll reference, and probably give away, time and again.

Roberts explains a fundamental concept to the Christian faith, but one I heard about far too late in life. When you see that God is weaving one masterful story together through each book of the Bible, it changes your reading of Scripture and understanding of Christ.

I really can’t say enough about this book. Written by a friend, it is a short devotional that walks through every work of God in the believer’s life. Dobbie is a master of explaining solid doctrine alongside practical stories and pithy humor.

If you never worry or find yourself feeling anxious, buy this book for someone else. It helpfully edifies and encourages the reader to fight for trust in God no matter the circumstances.

This work is a wonderfully timeless devotional. These short Puritan writings will challenge your faith, renew your devotion to God, and spur your towards holy living.
